Mesopotamia Association for Strategic Studies (MASS) hosted a roundtable discussion on December 14, 2024, in Sulaimaniya, featuring university lecturer Ahmed Mohammed-Saleh Amin’s paper on kleptocratic systems in Kurdistan Region. Experts from various fields explored systemic challenges, reform pathways, and potential solutions, with plans for continued research and dialogue by MASS.
Mesopotamia Association for Strategic Studies (MASS) held a roundtable discussion on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Nali Hall of the Ramada Hotel in Sulaimaniya. The event centered on a paper presented by Ahmed MohammedSaleh Amin, a lecturer at University of Sulaimaniya, titled “Changes in Kleptocratic Regimes: The Case of Kurdistan Region.”
To deepen the conversation, MASS invited a diverse group of experts specializing in law, economics, finance, oil, politics, and media. The participants engaged in an in-depth and spirited discussion, analyzing the paper’s themes. Key topics included identifying kleptocratic practices in the Kurdistan Region, exploring strategies for systemic reform, and addressing the threats posed by entrenched corruption.
The discussion concluded with attendees commending MASS for organizing such a valuable event and calling for similar initiatives in the future.
